Export

The Export Port Type can enable access to your local files/directories for other users on the grid.

There are two ways you can export your files to grid:

  1. LightWeight Export
  2. HeavyWeight export

For a LightWeight Export, you need to provide:

  • The local filesystem path that you want to share to grid.
  • The Grid Container Path. This is the grid container resource that enables file sharing.
  • RNS Path. This is the grid path where you want to make your export available. You should have permissions to read, write and execute to this path to be able to make the link

LightWeight export will create an EPR only to the top of the directory structure. The access control can be set only at the top level of the exported directory and this will apply to all the files/directories in that path.

HeavyWeight export creates an EPR to every file/directory exported to the grid. This provides finer grained Access control to the files. You need to provide:

  • The local filesystem path that you want to share to grid.
  • The Grid Container Path. This is the grid container resource that enables file sharing.
  • RNS Path. This is the grid path where you want to make your export available. You should have permissions to read, write and execute to this path to be able to make the link
